About the Job

We are seeking a passionate Developer Experience Engineer to champion Clerk’s developer community and act as a bridge between us and our users. You will be responsible for understanding developer needs, creating engaging content, providing technical guidance, and facilitating meaningful interactions within the community. By collaborating closely with product teams, marketing, and other stakeholders, you will contribute to the growth and success of our products.

Job Responsibilities

1. Community Engagement:

• Build and nurture relationships with developers, both online and offline, through social media platforms like Twitter Spaces, conferences, and meetups
• Act as the primary point of contact for developers, addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback, and escalating technical issues when needed
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive community environment where knowledge-sharing and collaboration flourish
• Support and celebrate community contributors

2. Content Creation:

• Develop and deliver high-quality technical content such as blog posts, demos, videos, and documentation that showcases the capabilities and value of our tools
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging and educational content for various platforms, tailored to different audience segments

3. Technical Advocacy:

• Serve as a technical expert, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of our products and how they solve real-world problems for developers
• Present technical sessions at conferences, social media platforms, and workshops to educate the developer community about Clerk’s tools and their applications

4. Feedback and Insights:

• Collect and synthesize feedback from the community, identifying trends, pain points, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate these insights to relevant teams.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to relay user needs and advocate for features that align with the community's requirements.

5. Community Growth:

• Develop and implement strategies to grow and diversify the developer community, attracting new members and increasing engagement with existing members.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to promote community initiatives, including partnerships, joint events, and co-marketing activities.

Skills & Experience

• Strong passion for open source and developer communities, with a deep understanding of developer needs, pain points, and trends.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and approachable manner.
• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks commonly used by developers like Typescript, React, and Node.
• Prior experience in developer advocacy, community management, or a related field is a strong plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with developers from diverse backgrounds.
• Proven track record of creating technical content, such as blog posts, videos, or open-source contributions.
• Willingness to travel and participate in events
