Job Summary:
The Associate Community Manager - Temp supports the Subscription and Community team, reporting to the Community Manager, and working on a range of initiatives in support of the subscription business and various community initiatives. In this role, the Associate Community Manager will implement the community engagement strategy in various media, in collaboration with marketing and programming, to ensure that all engaged fans of Crooked Media can find an outlet to deepen and broaden their engagement with our shows. This role will contribute to the management of Crooked’s
‘Friends of the Pod’ Discord Server, and will engage the community on a variety of platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about the power of digital strategy to build a brand and to drive results and is constantly finding new ways to engage audiences online.
How You’ll Spend Your Time:
Community Engagement
Engage the paid subscription audience directly through Discord and other channels to make sure every paid subscriber finds value, community, and enjoyment in the paid subscription community.
Deliver solutions to ensure that ongoing cohorts of paid subscribers find value and community on the Discord server.
Coordinate and execute the planning of community events such as game nights, activism workshops, and group chats.
Maintain a consistent tone and voice for the subscription brand throughout the platforms that the subscription business engages on.
Participate in creating an engaging, warm, inviting community forum within Discord, while maintaining the FOTP brand voice and building positive relationships with the members of the community.
Promote content and experiences for all tiers of the community, posting links, encouraging people to join, answering questions about upcoming content and events.
Address and resolve problems and be creative in keeping the community content and fulfilled.
Assist in the recruitment and management of community moderators within the Discord server.
What You’ll Bring To The Table:
1-2 years of experience managing a community or an entertainment or political social account and demonstrated success in growing audiences and developing original content.
Discord expertise – A digital professional who has gained experience in all areas of the platform.
Must be extremely organized with a passion for process, procedures and structure.
Strong writing skills and good editorial judgment.
A working knowledge of current and relevant trending content and best practices.
You should be easy to adapt and calm under pressure. On any given day, you’ll interact with our founders and executive stakeholders, high touch talent and directly with your community under tight time frames in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, think practically, and be solution-oriented.
Willingness to tackle matters outside the area of expertise.
Experience in politics or organizing is strongly preferred.
Schedule & Availability:
This is a full-time temporary role with Crooked Media and the hours here are general expectations for what the time requirement will be to effectively complete your responsibilities. Applicants must have the willingness and ability to work the following schedule:
A work schedule consisting of approximately 8 hours per day, 5 days a week
Availability on weekday evenings & nights at least 3 days a week
Required weekend availability as needed
When we open up a position, we conduct a market analysis to ensure we have the most up-to-date data. Once we’re ready to extend an offer, we look at the individual’s years of relevant experience and other compensable factors to determine a competitive offer. And for this role, the starting wage range is $26-31/hour with an approximate 40 hours worked a week.
